Music Minister



PRINCIPAL FUNCTION

The Minister of Music under the supervision of the Pastor, is responsible for leading, planning, conducting and evaluating the church music program.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct congregational singing
  • Work with the Pastor in planning the congregational services of the church
  • Assist the church Nominating Committee of workers in the music program
  • Train and supervise workers for the church music program
  • Help music leaders to plan and operate their music program
  • Serve on the Church Council
  • Meet with the Pastor and staff members for staff meetings
  • Authorize the purchase of all materials to be used in connection with church music programs
  • Oversee the church music literature including its proper storage
  • Provide an order of worship including hymns, special music, etc. to the church secretary in time to be printed in the church bulletin for the following Sunday
  • Expected to be available to lead the music for revivals and special services upon request of the Pastor
  • Assists Nominating Committee in the choosing of the music committee
  • Review new music for all choirs and groups
  • Recommend and secure the services of guest directors
  • Perform such other duties as assigned by the Pastor or Personnel Committee

A minimum of 1 year experience required in both traditional and praise music with ability to lead an Adult and Senior Choir plus conduct various cantata's. This is a part-time, paid staff position. Please submit a resume to oakgrovebc07@comcast.net.


Youth Director/Minister of Students


PRINCIPAL FUNCTION

The Youth Director/Minister of Students will work under the supervison of the Pastor, will develop, promote, and implement a program for youth in an atmosphere od spiritual growth.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Youth Council Committee in coordinating, conducting, and evaluating the church's youth program
  • Work/participate with the Youth Council Committee in developing a youth calendar of activities and scheduling specific events, lead the Youth Council Committe in determining objectives, goals, organization, leadership, finances, and administrative procedures
  • Work with the Youth Council Committee as a resource person
  • Keep the Youth Council Committee abreast of associational and state activities of mutual interest
  • Council with youth, parents, and youth workers as needed
  • Serve as the chairperson of the Youth Committee on the Church Council
  • Direct all youth work during Wednesday night services
  • Work with the Sunday School Director, teachers, and Discipleship Training Director in promoting Sunday School, Discipleship training, website developer, and mission organizations as it relates to youth programs
  • Teach and set an example for youth spiritually and set guidelines for growth
  • Promote missions
  • Lead the youth in a visitation program
  • Present youth programs as appropriate during the Sunday night service
  • Clean bus and van after each use
  • Leave church facilities inan orderly fashion after each activity
  • Keep the Pastor up to date on all activities at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor or Personnel Committee
